Originally built as part of the Poolbeg Generating Station, the chimneys have been a defining feature of Dublin's industrial and maritime landscape for generations. Rising above the coastline at the mouth of the River Liffey, they tell a story of the city's development, industry and changing relationship with its waterfront. Over time, they have taken on a life of their own, becoming an enduring symbol of Dublin and a familiar sight for generations of people who call the city home.

Hand drawn by Mary O'Sullivan using pencil and ink, the illustration was created o be included in the Cities of Ireland Toile de Jouy print, that was first debuted on the Ireland Fashion Week runway. This piece captures the distinctive form and striking presence of these iconic Dublin landmarks.
